Mexico
WAW Mexico, you have so much to offer! Where would I even start? From Mexico City (most famously known as CDMX) where abounds tacos street food and nightlife, to Oaxaca city with its beautiful monuments and where every street wall bursts with colorful street art , passing by Puerto Escondido with its never-ending beaches, surf vibes and cute coffee places, while not forgetting San Cristobal de las casas, a charming colonial town nestled in the highlands of Chiapas.

Cost of living:
Mexico is not a cheap country, especially regarding some touristy destinations such on the East coast where you can find famous places such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, or even Mexico City itself! But there are cheaper (and more beautiful) places such as San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, or certain regions of Oaxaca. Street food is very cheap (and very good), and you can find good accommodation for cheap too, depending on your type of travel. If you are a DYI backpacker needing a certain comfort, then youβll be fine; there are PLENTY of beautiful Airbnbs and hostels all over! Transportation is cheap too. You can travel for hours by bus for a reasonable price, or take a flight for sometimes an even more reasonable price. All in all, Mexico is quite a cheap country to travel to.
Transportation:
Transportation varies from one region to another. In Mexico city I would highly recommend using the underground (Metro de la ciudad), itβs super cheap (0,77 cents!) and really fast. Beware of the peak hours where the underground can get very crowded. From one region to another, it really depends how much time you have. In Puerto Escondido you should rent a scooter (approx. 10 euros a day, with a decreasing price per the number of days you rent one).
Flights are cheap, especially if you have very little luggage whilst bus rides enables you to see beautiful and diverse landscapes.
Flight companies: Aeromexico, Volaris, Viva Aerobus
Long journey Bus companies: ADO (they have several types of class)
Food:
You might have already heard how Mexican food is one of the best in the world, and I have to say that it is quite unique. Some of the best local food I have had is Mole (thick, dark sauce made of chili peppers, sesame, chocolate, spices and herbs, often used with chicken), Chilaquiles (fried or baked tortilla chip with either red sauce - salsa roja, or green sauce - salsa verde, egg, avocado and sliced onions), Tacos (al pastor, de barbacoa, de chorizo,β¦ - often comes in threes), Enchiladas (a mix of tortilla, meat, cheese and sauce), and I could go on forever.
Top food locations: Sandala cafe (Puerto Escondido), Casa Raiz 33 (San Cristobal de las Casas), Dassani (Oaxaca City), Food markets (Mexico City)
