Minca
Dear Minca, thank you for being what you are. I felt like breathing again.
Minca is a charming and tranquil mountain town located in the Sierra Nevada. It is situated about 15 kilometers (9 miles) southeast of Santa Marta, a popular coastal city on Colombia's Caribbean coast. Minca is known for its lush natural beauty, cool mountain climate, and as a gateway to exploring the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, which is the world's highest coastal mountain range.
Clothing: It is mandatory to have a rain jacket and comfortable shoes for rainy days. Don’t forget your swimsuit if you plan to swim in the waterfalls or in your hostel’s swimming pool. At night it can get a bit chilly, so a light sweater is a good option. If you don’t have a mosquito repellent you’ll get eaten alive so please don’t forget it.
Where to stay: Rio elemento Ecolodge - Masaya casas viejas - Mundo Nuevo

Swimming in the waterfalls is a must !

Birdwatching Hikes: Minca is a paradise for birdwatchers. You can take guided birdwatching hikes in the area to spot various species, including toucans and parrots.
Where to eat: The best place you’ll find to eat in Minca is called Casa Aney. It is just so good. The salmon or the chicken with fried yuka sticks are crazy as well as the dips that you get as a starter. Another place is called the Lazy cat where you can get more mainstream food, but still very good!
Where to go out: If you are not staying there already, Rio Elemento has a great bar to hang out, added to its huge garden. Taco y Chela is a Mexican bar and the cocktails and staff there are great!
