Sumberkima: where sea & mountains meet
This is the place your fresh whole coconuts come from
Sumberkima is part of one of the places you want to go to if you want a peaceful haven away from the crowds and chaos of the island's more touristy areas. It is retreated in the north west of Bali, 3h30 away riding from Amed (North east), Canggu (South West), and Ubud (center), and 4h20 from Uluwatu (South). There, you will be able to reconnect with nature by gently hiking in the hills, enjoying stunning views, or having long strolls along the beach.
Prices in Sumberkima:
Although not too much of a touristic destination (yet), prices in Sumberkima are not cheap (but not outstandingly expensive for what it offers!!). This is because it is a fairly remote region with not much competition. An average dish in a local restaurant would cost between 45 and 60k (excluding governmental tax). An average dish in a more luxury restaurant would cost between 75 and 130k (excluding governmental tax). Accommodation is suprisingly not that expensive.

Hostels in Sumberkima - Book your hostel here
Book Mangroove Bay Hostel! This place is so much more than a hostel. The quality of the service is outstanding really. It has a pool, a restaurant that serves really good, comforting and tasty food & drinks, a rooftop where you can exercice yoga or stretching, a kitchen, a movie room and plenty of areas to chill.
Guesthouse in Sumberkima:
Book Umma Bali Menjangan
Villa in Sumberkima:
Book at Sumberkima Hill - It is the same owner as Mangroove Bay hostel. I did not sleep there but the quality of their restaurant and Spa services were top notch. The views from the mountains overlooking the sea are beautiful.
where to eat in sumberkima
Part of Sumberkima Hill complex:
Mangroove Bay - Serves a mix of Balinese and mediterranean dishes using their own organic products from their farm in Sumberkima. For the rest, they call on the best suppliers in Bali and you will be able to notice it; Their food is absolutely delicious. The place is clean, super welcoming, you basically feel at home. The portions are incredible too.
I recommend the oat porridge with caramelized apple, figs, cashews and honey as well as their glowing papaya juice.
Suma restaurant - is their global cuisine restaurant that looks over the sea. This restaurant has a higher standard feeling to it and it is understandable considering its location.
I recommend their shredded beef ragu pasta. The parmesan tasted like parmesan which was a deligtht, the portion was huge and tasty (ask for some extra olive oil or thick pepper)
Senja restaurant - is their Indonesian restaurant with volcano and valley views
Local, traditional restaurants:
Mantra Sari Restaurant - 100% Balinese restaurant which serves local food. I have had better, but it does the job for a quick pre/post beach day lunch
I recommend the grilled fish and the mango juice
